VANTAGE AQUAMARINE DRILLER-CROWN OVERHAUL.

K2 Oilfield Services were hired to replace the Crown, fastline and deadline sheaves as well as the
travelling block as part of the rigs SPS – API RP 8b Cat IV requirements, this task was made more
difficult because the equipment at the crown could not be lowered to the drill floor, we had to set up
a “tram way” rigging arrangement using the tuggers to lower the sheaves to the pipe deck from the
gin pole.
Supply 5 man team of rig builders.
Provide method statement & risk assessment to the client.
Handoff the top drive, unlink the travelling block to drill
floor.
Spool off the drill line.
Change out two tuggers with longer wire rope.
Rig up tuggers to gin pole.
Rig up tirfor wires gin pole to pipe deck as tram way.
Remove inner fast and deadline sheaves to pipe deck.
Remove main cluster to pipe deck.
Assist overhaul & inspect all sheaves.
Rig all sheaves back to crown.
Remove & install back deadline idler sheave.
Reave back the drill line.
